How to split a PDF

Choose a mode, then set what you need: for a range, type page numbers and dashes like 1-3, 5, 8-10; for every page, no extra input is needed — just click split; for chunks, enter how many pages each file should contain. Click "Split & Download" and your file(s) download immediately.

Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. Splitting happens entirely in your browser using your own device — your PDF is never uploaded, so it stays completely private and the result is ready immediately.

Why did my browser ask permission to download multiple files?
This happens in "Every page" mode, since each page downloads as its own PDF file at once. It's a normal browser security prompt for multiple downloads — just allow it to get all the files.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?
Not currently — encrypted or password-protected PDFs can't be read by the tool. Remove the password from the file first, then split it.

Is there a limit on file size or page count?
No hard limit is enforced. Since splitting runs in your browser rather than on a server, the practical limit is your device's available memory — very large or long PDFs may run slower on older devices.
